Collett P. Small is a founding Partner of Slater & Small PLLC. She served as the Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar 2017-2018. Ms. Small is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as a Specialist in Elder Law. She currently serves on the Executive Council of the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, as well as on the Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee. She is on the Board of Directors for the Weston Bar Association. Ms. Small is the Chair of the Elder Law Section’s Inclusion, Diversity, and Engagement Committee and the Strategic Planning Committee. She currently serves on the Joint Public Policy Task Force of the Elder Law Section and is the Continuing Legal Education Co-chair of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys.

Ms. Small is an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. Thomas University, School of Law where she teaches the Elder Law Clinic. Ms Small writes articles that address elder law issues and frequently lectures in the area of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Guardianship, and Probate. Attorney Small is very active in the community and is a former member of the School Advisory Counsel for Broward County Public Schools. She also volunteers at local law schools and serves as a mentor to law students and new attorneys.

In law school she worked as an intern with the Social Security Administration Office of Hearings and Appeals on disability cases. Prior to law school Ms. Small enjoyed a successful career as a Bank Manager with two major financial institutions.

When she is away from the office she enjoys traveling, competing in marathons, gardening, and spending time with her family.
