The 2024 AFELA Committees
We still have room for your expertise on our AFELA committees. AFELA is actively looking for members to join the committees Contact the committee chair know if you are interested in joining their committee.

Membership – TBD, Chair

  • Finding and retaining a marketing consultant, supporting marketing consultant, ideas for promoting AFELA and its members, increasing membership

Marketing & Public Relations – Audrey Ehrhardt, Chair


  • Finding and retaining a marketing consultant, supporting marketing consultant, ideas for promoting AFELA and its members, increasing membership

Continuing Education – Brandon Arkin, Chair

  • Receive objectives from the AFELA board regarding the number and type of programs the committee will be tasked with developing for the year.
  • Brainstorm about above.
  • Incorporate other program chairs into the education committee to avoid duplication.
  • Educate our members and in doing so, help raise money for AFELA.
  • Be a filter for the AFELA board when it comes to education issues. Take complaints and suggestions from members, filter them and report back to the board.
  • Keep a running list of topics and speakers that won’t get used for the current year so we don’t start from scratch the following year.

Budget & Sponsorship – Jason Neufeld, Chair

  • The goals of the committee are to increase fundraising for AFELA and the Taskforce, to review and make suggestions related the annual budget, and to work on increasing sponsorship by innovative strategies and networking.

Website – Danielle Faller, Chair

  • The committee is charged with oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of the AFELA website. Committee members will work with the webmaster and a web content manager to ensure a schedule for content updates and maintenance. Development of the Social media aspects of AFELA’s web presence (Facebook, Twitter) will also be a responsibility of the committee along with budgeting in the future for SEO optimization to draw consumers to the site to seek an elder law attorney. The Web Committee will work in coordination with other AFELA committees (Marketing, Member retention, Member participation, Budgeting) to obtain funding, content, member participation, website exposure, and working with marketing committee to secure AFELA sponsors for the website.
  • The Committee will offer added –value to AFELA members. Committee participants will be presented the opportunity to write subject matter content and write articles of interest that appear on the website and obtain credit for their contributions. In addition, opportunities will be available related to development and contribution to social media avenues as well.
  • The primary goal of the Committee is to provide and manage content of a consumer and member directed website and develop future SEO strategy and a social media presence.

  • Monitoring Listserv activity, creating and enforcing rules related to listserv decorum
