The 2025 AFELA Committees
Membership – Chair: Jennifer Akin
Support member engagement by welcoming new members, providing feedback on member programming, and helping develop strategies to increase membership and retention.
Marketing & Public Relations – Chair: Audrey Ehrhardt
Help shape AFELA’s public presence. This committee supports the work of the marketing consultant, brainstorms promotional campaigns, and develops ideas to elevate AFELA and its members across platforms.
Continuing Education – Co-Chairs: Brandon Arkin & Jason Neufeld
This committee works closely with the Board to design relevant and timely educational content for webinars and events. Members help brainstorm program topics, identify speakers, and ensure continuity in educational offerings from year to year. The committee also serves as a liaison between the membership and the Board on education-related feedback and suggestions.
Budget & Sponsorship – Chair: Brandon Arkin
Focused on financial growth and sustainability, this committee helps review the annual budget and develop creative strategies for increasing sponsorship and fundraising for AFELA.
Website – Chair: Danielle Faller
Oversees the content of the AFELA website. This committee works closely with the webmaster and marketing team to ensure a consistent, updated, and engaging web presence. Members may also contribute articles or content for SEO and member value.
Listserv – Chair: Kole Long
This committee ensures the effective and professional use of the AFELA listserv by monitoring activity and maintaining decorum. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing listserv rules and fostering a constructive communication space for all members.
UnProgram Chairs – Co-Chairs: Genny Bernstein & [Co-Chair TBD]
The UnProgram Chairs are responsible for planning the substantive portion of AFELA’s annual signature event. They curate the educational content, select breakout session topics, and coordinate speakers and facilitators. The Chairs work closely with the Executive Director to ensure the program reflects current trends and meets member needs. This is a two-year commitment to ensure continuity and effective planning.
